Students may be having problems logging in to the EBSCO article databases or may be getting kicked out to an error page.
Step 1. When students are logged in to D2L, they can access the EBSCO article databases from within D2L –they should look for the Helpful Links widget on the My Home page or on any course Home page and click on the Library Resources link, which will take them to the Library Resources page. Once there, look on the upper left-hand side of the page and click on the EBSCO article databases link.
Step 2. Students can also access the databases from the main Library Resources page, access from www.ccconline.org. Click on the Research Databases link and then login with your S# and password. (Note: Students must login through the login page with the CCCOnline logo; logging in on an EBSCO page won’t work because they need to be authenticated through CCCOnline first).
Step 3. The student will see the following when successfully in EBSCO:
Step 4. To reach the Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, CINAHL, the History Reference Center, the Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Center, and the Science Reference Center, click on the top link – EBSCOhost Research Databases. There is a list of available databases and their descriptions on the Library Article Database Tutorial page.
Sometimes, when students click on the EBSCOhost Research Database link, they may not go into the databases, but may see an error page instead.
Possible solutions to Common Error:
Step 1. First try clicking on the browser back button. Then click Research Database link button again (this seems to work for people who have satellite internet).
Step 2. If that doesn’t work, try clearing browser history cache, close browser and then start over with logging in to EBSCO through the login page with the CCCOnline logo.
Step 3. If steps 1 or 2 are unsuccessfully, then have student email the Instructional Online Librarian.
